All of us are comfortable speaking in our mother tongue. When we try to understand how we have picked our mother tongue, it is amply clear to us that even before learning the Reading and Writing skills, we have learned Speaking by following two crucial steps. They are listening to parents and repeating the words what we listened to.

We have already understood that Listening is the Basic Step in improving our Language. Now, the second step comes into action i.e. Repeating what we listen.

When you listen to People’s conversation, Speeches; pay attention. Listen carefully to the words which are used and repeat those words without any second thought. You may not know the meaning initially, repeat that dialogue or the sentence. Let it be delivered comfortably. Don’t use this new word / sentence with anyone. Repeat it till you are able to deliver comfortably.

Once you are able to deliver the word / sentence comfortably, know the meaning of that word /sentence and learn where to use it. Once you learn where to use it, start using it with the people who are close to you. Check how it is being received. You friends & family members can give the feedback about the usage, context & the pronunciation.

The final stage is to use that new word / sentence in the suitable occasions even with the strangers. As it is being used by you, you can listen to their response and learn from it.

Listening and Repeating the words/sentences are the first two steps in learning any language.
